Bad Veins - Concert Review - Pittsburgh - Garfield Artworks - 8/7/09 - Show Review

Very good show last night at Garfield Artworks. First I want to make mention of the Unblurred Art Crawl that happens along Penn Ave. Generally, the Garfield/Penn Ave. area is a place you really don't want to walk alone at night. However, this event really makes it a safe environment to pedestrian traffic. I didn't realize that so many art galleries and shops existed in this area. Its a very well planned program that happens the first Friday of every month (plus most have free booze). Check it out.

When we first popped into GA the place was packed with their art show still going on. Unfortunately for the crowd a majority left before Bad Veins hit the stage. Needless to say people missed out. The duo brought out their 3rd member, 'Irene', a reel to reel projector (which paced their set). They also used an old analog phone for voice distortion. Good to see bands using such ancient equipment. Even with a sparse audience these guys still went all out.
